  • Achadinha Cheese Company, owned by Jim and Donna Pacheco was first established as Pacheco Family Dairy in 1955 in Bodega Bay and then relocated to Petaluma in 1969 by Jim's father. Jim and Donna reside on the ranch with their four children to carry on this family legacy. In 1997, Jim and Donna sold their cows and bought dairy goats. The "girls" as Donna calls them, are able to eat pasture all year long on 290 acres and eat all of the brewer's grain from the local breweries they want-which gives them a nice little buzz.

Achadina makes two superb and very popular cheeses.

Capricious (Ca-pree-shus) won "Best in Show" at the American Cheese Society event in 2002 An aged cheese hand rolled in an old european style, this truly unique artisan cheese is made with great attention to detail and naturally aged in the fresh Pacific Ocean air.

Broncha (Bron-ka) ~ Broncha, a gentle table cheese, was inspired by a Portuguese family recipe and is infused with the subtle flavors of the brewers grains the goats enjoy as part of their diet. Achadinha also makes Feta from their pasteurized goat's milk with a sweet creamy taste and texture with a fresh brine finish. The Feta is soaked in a sea salt brine and delivered to market within four weeks.
