Dutton Goldfield 2007 Chardonnay
Written by Godfrey Daniels
Aromas of ripe pear, candied lime, butterscotch, and even hints of gardenia are followed by rich caramel and ripe apple flavors in this blend of five vineyards in the coolest part of Russian River Valley.

What enlivens these flavors through to the finish is the scintillating acidity created by the cool climate of the area plus the unique mineral structure provided by the distinctive “Goldridge” soil of sandy loam and fractured sandstone.

Winemaker Dan Goldfield barrel ferments individual lots combining indigenous and inoculated yeasts to create these opulent Chardonnays that are both brilliant and age-worthy.
