Crinella Sauvignon Blanc
Written by Godfrey Daniels
Both floral and sweet grass aromas hint at peach and flirt with apples In this extraordinary Sauvignon Blanc from Green Valley. On the palate honied fig and green apple resolve into a brisk core of lime.

In 1988 Ramona Crinella and her brother Frank inherited the Green Valley  farmland their immigrant Italian parents acquired in 1944 and started planting grapevines. Poised on the edge of Sebastopol in  one of the coolest areas of the Russian River Valley, the Crinella vineyards are inspired each morning by fog as it rolls in from the sea and then disippates with the advent of the warm afternoon sun. They produce grapes with a distinctive  “cold climate” acidity offering a blend of bright fruit notes and delicate mineral structure. The wine pairs nicely with smoked trout and crème fraiche.
