  • Founded in 1628 and located in the heart of Bavaria, Neumarkter Lammsbräu has pioneered organic beer brewing and is the world's first continuously certified organic brewery.

As early as 1980, owner and master brewer Dr. Franz Ehrnsperger, decided to manufacture organic beer and to run his brewery in an ecologically sound manner. The company uses organic ingredients sourced from local farmer cooperatives and produces fifteen styles of organic beers, as well as a selection of organic non alcoholic soft drinks.

At Lammsbräu, sustainability continues to be a guiding management principle. The brewery uses only glass bottles - no cans, packaging materials are made from recycled paper, including bottle labels. The water is pristine, drawn from the brewery's own deep well. The company has solar panels for energy production, while delivery trucks are fueled by cold pressed vegetable oil. Even the brewer waste, often dumped by conventional breweries, is sustainably utilized as a growing medium for the organic mushrooms cultivated in the dark cellars of the brewery.
