  • In 1998, when David Rebb Firman came across a food article describing fennel pollen as "the spice that angels sprinkle on their wings", Fennel Pollen was a spice almost exclusively used by Italians. Firman, who ahd become familiar with pollen collection from his grandmother, knew precisely where to find wild fennel, and how to collect its delicate essence.

When Bay Area chefs and food enthusiasts began raving about recipes using his wild-gathered fennel pollen, Firman engaged San Diego Area Chef Bernard Guillas to craft wonderful pollen-blends for both carnivores and vegetarians.

Today Pollen Ranch is the largest producer of wild-crafted pure fennel pollen in the country. Pollen Ranch Dill Pollen can be used in place of dill weed or powder in any recipe.
